United Nations Charter

"We the Peoples of the United Nations... United for a Better World" The United Nations Charter is the treaty that forms and establishes the international organization called the United Nations. While this document is often misconstrued as a constitution it is, in fact, an agreement between states and not a compact among the individual peoples to create a government. It was signed at the United Nations Conference on International Organization in San Francisco California, 1945 by 50 of the 51 original member countries (Poland, the other original member, which was not represented at the conference, signed it later). It entered into force on October 24, 1945, after being ratified by the five permanent members of the Security Council—the  Republic of China (later replaced by the People's Republic of China), France, the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (later replaced by the Russian Federation), the United Kingdom, and the United States—and a majority of the other signatories.

Die Charta der Vereinten Nationen ist die „Verfassung“ der Vereinten Nationen (UN). Sie wurde am 26. Juni 1945 durch die 50 Gründungsmitglieder in San Francisco unterzeichnet (Polen unterzeichnete später und wurde dadurch 51. Gründungsmitglied) und trat am 24. Oktober 1945 in Kraft, nachdem sie von den damals fünf ständigen Mitgliedern des Sicherheitsrates (Frankreich, Sowjetunion (seit 1991 Russische Föderation), China, Vereinigtes Königreich, Vereinigte Staaten von Amerika) sowie der Mehrheit der anderen Unterzeichner ratifiziert worden war.

Karta Narodów Zjednoczonych - wielostronna umowa międzynarodowa powołująca do życia i określająca ustrój Organizacji Narodów Zjednoczonych(stąd nazywa się ją czasem Konstytucją ONZ).Karta została podpisana 26 czerwca 1945 r. w San Francisco przez 50 z 51 krajów członkowskich (Polska podpisała ją dwa miesiące później) i weszła w życie 24 października tego samego roku, po ratyfikowaniu jej przez pięć krajów założycielskich (Chiny, Francja, Stany Zjednoczone, Wielka Brytania i Związek Radziecki) oraz większość sygnatariuszy. Kraje podpisujące Kartę zobowiązują się do przestrzegania jej postanowień, jako prawa międzynarodowego.

Lo Statuto delle Nazioni Unite è l'accordo istitutivo delle Nazioni Unite (ONU). Fu firmato a San Francisco il 26 giugno 1945 dai 50 paesi membri, a conclusione della Conferenza delle Nazioni Unite sull'Organizzazione Internazionale. Entrò in vigore il 24 ottobre 1945, dopo la ratifica da parte dei 5 membri fondatori: Cina, Francia, Unione Sovietica, Regno Unito, e Stati Uniti.
