United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland

This article is about the historical state called the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland (1801–1927). For its modern successor state, see United Kingdom. The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland was the formal name of the United Kingdom from 1 January 1801 until 12 April 1927. It was formed by the merger of the Kingdom of Great Britain (itself having been a merger of the Kingdoms of England and Scotland) and the Kingdom of Ireland.

Le Royaume-Uni de Grande-Bretagne et d'Irlande est formé le  1801 par la fusion du Royaume-Uni de Grande-Bretagne (lui-même une fusion des anciens royaumes d'Écosse et d'Angleterre en 1707) et du Royaume d'Irlande. La fusion en est facilitée par la décision du Parlement irlandais exclusivement anglican à Dublin en août 1800 de mettre fin à son existence par l'Acte d'Union. Le gouvernement britannique attribue titres, terres et argent aux parlementaires irlandais, pour récompenser leur unionisme tout récent.

Das Vereinigte Königreich von Großbritannien und Irland entstand 1801 aus dem Zusammenschluss des Königreichs Großbritannien (das 1707 aus dem Zusammenschluss der Königreiche England und Schottland entstanden war) mit dem Königreich Irland. Das Zusammengehen war möglich geworden, nachdem das irische Parlament ein Jahr zuvor beschlossen hatte, dem Act of Union 1800 zuzustimmen und sich selbst aufzulösen.

Zjednoczone Królestwo Wielkiej Brytanii i Irlandii (ang. United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland) - historyczne państwo utworzone 1 stycznia 1801, roku poprzez połączenie Królestwa Wielkiej Brytanii (które samo powstało z połączenia Królestwa Szkocji i Królestwa Anglii w 1707 roku) i Królestwa Irlandii. Przestało istnieć 6 grudnia 1922 roku, kiedy to na skutek Anglo-Irlandzkiego traktatu utworzone zostało Wolne Państwo Irlandzkie. Współcześnie sukcesorami tego państwa są Zjednoczone Królestwo Wielkiej Brytanii i Irlandii Północnej i Republika Irlandii.
