United Airlines Flight 175

United Airlines Flight 175 was a morning flight that regularly flew from Logan International Airport in East Boston, Massachusetts to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) in Los Angeles, California. On September 11, 2001, the United Airlines Boeing 767-222, registered N612UA, was hijacked and crashed in New York City during the September 11, 2001 attacks. It was the second plane hijacked and flown into the World Trade Center, but was the single airline crash that morning to be witnessed live on television around the world as it happened. It was preceded by American Airlines Flight 11, which had struck the top of the North Tower 17 minutes earlier. The resultant inferno drew live mass media attention on to the scene of the impending Flight 175 crash into the nearby South Tower.

Der United Airlines Flight 175 (kurz Flug UA175; im Funkverkehr united one seven five oder auch united one seventy-five-heavy), geflogen von einem Jet des Typs Boeing 767-222, wurde von fünf Terroristen am 11. September 2001 als zweites von vier Flugzeugen in den USA entführt und um 9.03 Uhr in den Südturm des World Trade Centers in New York City hinein gelenkt. Dies war etwa 1/4 Stunde nach dem Einschlag der ersten entführten Maschine im Nordturm, der von einigen Personen im Südturm als Qualm aus der Süd- und Ostfassade des Nordturms heraus beobachtet werden konnte. Der Einschlag bewirkte zu diesem Zeitpunkt auch eine erdbebenartige Erschütterung im Südturm. Start war in Logan International Airport, East Boston, Massachusetts (BOS) - Ziel war der Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).

Let 175 (anglicky: United Airlines Flight 175) byl pravidelný vnitrostátní let spolecnosti United Airlines na trase z Logan International Airport v Bostonu v Massachusetts na Los Angeles International Airport v Kalifornii realizovaný letadlem Boeing 767-200ER. Dne 11. zárí 2001 byl tento spoj unesen peti teroristy, kterí se podíleli na plánu, který vešel do historie jako útoky z 11. zárí. Asi po 30 minutách letu teroristé násilím vtrhli do kokpitu a premohli kapitána i prvního dustojníka a prevzali kontrolu nad letadlem. Letadlo zacal pilotovat Marwan al-Shehhi, který absolvoval pilotní kurzy. Rízení leteckého provozu zjistilo, že let UA 175 je v problémech, nebot posádka prestala komunikovat. Nekolik pasažéru a palubního personálu telefonovalo z letadla a poskytli tak informace o únoscích, zranených pasažérech a posádce.
