Underdark

The Underdark is a literal underworld to the surface world for the Dungeons & Dragons roleplaying games. It is a vast subterranean network of interconnected caverns and tunnels stretching beneath entire continents.The Underdark is a strange alien landscape populated by bizarre creatures and ancient races, nearly all of whom are hostile to surface-dwelling life. The Underdark is featured prominently in the World of Greyhawk (where it was first introduced) and the Forgotten Realms. It is also a part of D&D's newest setting Eberron, in which it is called Khyber and is home to a host of evil beings driven deep into the caverns at the end of the age of demons. However, the majority of gaming material describing the Underdark (in the form of sourcebooks and accessories) has been published for the Forgotten Realms setting.

L'Outreterre est un lieu fictif des jeux de rôle Donjons et Dragons. C'est un vaste réseau souterrain de cavernes et de tunnels qui s'étend sous des continents entiers. On peut aussi retrouver le terme d'Ombreterre (ou Ombre-Terre) dans les anciennes éditions ou les romans des éditions Fleuve noir. Dans le jeu Baldur's Gate II, on parle même de Tréfonds Obscurs.

Podmrok – fikcyjna kraina z gry fabularnej Dungeons & Dragons, znajdująca się w świecie Zapomnianych Krain. Podmrok to rozciągająca się pod całym Faerunem sieć jaskiń i tuneli, z rzadko zamieszkana przez żyjące istoty. Najważniejszymi z nich są drowy, czyli niegodziwe mroczne elfy o ciemnej skórze i jasnych włosach – w podmroku znajduje się wiele ich miast-państw np. Menzoberranzan i Ched Nasad. Inne rasy to illithidzi, czyli potocznie łupieżcy umysłów, beholderzy i svirfnebliny - głębinowe gnomy. Poza tymi istotami Podmrok zamieszkują całe rzesze niezorganizowanych, dzikich stworów, służacych inteligentnym rasom podziemi za zwiadowców lub niewolników. Przykładem mogą być oswojone przez drowy umbrowe kolosy. Inną choatyczną rasę stanowią corby, znani jako ptakoludzie.
