Unbundling

Product bundling is a marketing strategy that involves offering several products for sale as one combined product. This strategy is very common in the software business (for example: bundle a word processor, a spreadsheet, and a database into a single office suite), and in the fast food industry in which multiple items are combined into a complete meal. A bundle of products is sometimes referred to as a package deal. The strategy is most successful when: there are economies of scale in production, there are economies of scope in distribution, marginal costs of bundling are low. production set-up costs are high,customer acquisition costs are high.consumers appreciate the resulting simplification of the purchase decision and benefit from the joint performance of the combined product.

Entbündelung bezeichnet -insbesondere in der Telekommunikation- das separate Angebot von einzelnen Leistungen, die vormals nur gebündelt mit anderen erhältlich waren:Durch die Entbündelung der Teilnehmeranschlussleitung (TAL) vom Festnetzanschluss des etablierten Anbieters erhalten konkurrierende Festnetzanbieter ohne eigene letzte Meile die Möglichkeit des direkten Kundenzugangs, indem sie die Teilnehmeranschlussleitung zu regulierten Konditionen vom etablierten Anbieter mieten können.Die Entbündelung des DSL-Anschlusses vom Festnetzanschluss sowohl durch reine DSL-Angebote für Konsumenten als auch durch Vorleistungen des etablierten Festnetzanbieters für konkurrierende Internetprovider (Line-Sharing, TAL-Entbündelung, Bitstromzugang) ist Voraussetzung für das Angebot von Komplettanschlusspaketen durch Wettbewerber ohne eigene Ortsvermittlungen und für das Angebot von auf IP-Telefonie-Technik basierenden Next Generation Network- und Triple Play-Anschlüssen.

Con Unbundling Local Loop (Accesso disaggregato alla rete locale), o spesso con il suo acronimo ULL, si indica la possibilità che hanno i nuovi operatori telefonici, da quando è stato liberalizzato il mercato delle telecomunicazioni, di usufruire delle infrastrutture esistenti, proprietà di altro operatore, per offrire ai clienti servizi propri, pagando un canone all'operatore effettivamente proprietario delle infrastrutture.

La desagregación del bucle local (en inglés Local Loop Unbundling, LLU) es el proceso regulatorio que permite a múltiples operadores de telecomunicaciones el uso de las conexiones que enlazan la central telefónica con las instalaciones de los clientes. La conexión cableada física entre el cliente y la compañía telefónica es denominada bucle local ("local loop") o bucle de abonado y en España es propiedad del antiguo operador estatal de telefonía, Telefónica S.A.
