Uganda

The Republic of Uganda is a landlocked country in East Africa, bordered on the east by Kenya, the north by Sudan, on the west by the Democratic Republic of Congo, on the southwest by Rwanda, and on the south by Tanzania. The southern part of the country includes a substantial portion of Lake Victoria, within which it shares borders with Kenya and Tanzania. Uganda takes its name from the Buganda kingdom, which encompasses a portion of the south of the country including the capital Kampala.

L'Ouganda est un pays d'Afrique de l'Est. Il est aussi considéré comme faisant partie de l'Afrique des grands lacs. Il est entouré par la République démocratique du Congo, le Kenya, le Rwanda, le Soudan et la Tanzanie. Le sud du pays englobe une vaste partie du lac Victoria. L'Ouganda tire son nom de l'ancien royaume de Buganda, qui couvrait autrefois les régions les plus au sud, dont la capitale Kampala.

Uganda (deutsch: []; englisch: []) liegt in Ostafrika und grenzt im Norden an den Sudan, im Osten an Kenia, im Süden an Tansania, im Südwesten an Ruanda und im Westen an die Demokratische Republik Kongo. Die Grenzen zu Kenia und Tansania verlaufen zum Teil durch den Viktoriasee.Das – im Vergleich zu anderen ostafrikanischen Staaten – an fruchtbaren Böden reiche Land wurde von Winston Churchill als „Perle Afrikas“ bezeichnet. Aufgrund der langen Zeit der Herrschaft von Diktaturen und Bürgerkrieg von 1966 bis 1986 und der Unterstützung von Bürgerkriegsgruppen in Nachbarländern tritt dies jedoch oft in den Hintergrund. Der Süden des Landes wird inzwischen wieder gern von Touristen besucht, in den nördlichen Grenzprovinzen gelten noch Reisewarnungen der ausländischen Vertretungen, auch wenn es seit 1999 keine Übergriffe auf Ausländer mehr gegeben hat.

La Repubblica dell'Uganda è uno Stato (236.040 km², 28.195.754 abitanti, capitale Kampala) dell'Africa Orientale. Confina a nord con il Sudan, a est con il Kenia, a sud con la Tanzania e il Ruanda e a ovest con la Repubblica Democratica del Congo. La parte meridionale del territorio comprende una parte sostanziosa del Lago Vittoria, che, per il resto, appartiene a Kenia e Tanzania. Il suo nome deriva dall'antico regno Buganda, che comprendeva la sezione meridionale del paese, inclusa la capitale Kampala.
