Ubangi River

The Ubangi River, also spelled Oubangi, ( or ) is a major tributary of the Congo River in Central Africa. It is considered to begin at the junction of the Mbomou and Uele Rivers, flows west for about 350 km, then bends to the southwest, passes through Bangui, then flows south for another 500 km to the Congo.

L' Oubangui (ou Ubangi) est un affluent majeur du fleuve Congo en Afrique centrale. Il prend ce nom à partir du confluent des rivières Mbomou et  Uele, coule vers l'ouest sur 350 km, puis vers le sud-ouest où il passe à Bangui, et se dirige pendant 500 km vers le Sud pour rejoindre le fleuve Congo.

Ubangi (fr.  Oubangui) - rzeka w Kongu, Republice Środkowoafrykańskiej i Demokratycznej Republice Konga. Długość wynosi 1300 km (z Uele 2300 km), powierzchnia dorzecza 770 tys. km². Rzeki źródłowe Mbomou i Uele.Przepływa przez podmokłe tereny równikowych lasów deszczowych. Tworzy liczne bystrza i progi. Wpada do Konga. Główne dopływy: Giri, Koto, Lua. Jest żeglowna na odcinku do miasta Bangi.

De Ubangi is een rivier in Afrika met een lengte van meer dan 1100 kilometer. Ze bepaalt de grens tussen de Centraal-Afrikaanse Republiek en Congo-Kinshasa. Het is de belangrijkste zijrivier van de Kongo.
