UNP

Dubnium (IPA: ), also called eka-tantalum, is a chemical element in the periodic table that has the symbol Db and atomic number 105. This is a highly radioactive synthetic element whose most stable isotope has a half life of 32 hours (268Db). This relatively high stability compared to the surrounding elements on the periodic table gives evidence that by manipulating the number of neutrons in a nucleus, one can alter the stabilities of such nuclei.

Dubnium ist ein chemisches Element; es zählt zu den Transactinoiden. Alle Dubnium-Isotope sind radioaktiv und haben Halbwertzeiten im Bereich von wenigen Sekunden.Entdeckt wurde Dubnium 1967 von G. N. Flerow et al. am Kernforschungsinstitut bei Dubna bzw. von Albert Ghiorso et al. an der Universität von Kalifornien, Berkeley. Wie alle Transactinoide wird Dubnium ausschließlich durch Teilchenbeschuss künstlich hergestellt. Die russische Arbeitsgruppe arbeitete dabei mit dem Beschuss von Americium durch Neon-Kerne und schlug dafür den Namen Nielsbohrium vor:

Nazwa pochodzi od rosyjskiego miasta Dubna.Doniesienie o otrzymaniu izotopów 260Db i 261Db przedstawił w 1968 roku zespół pracujący w Dubnej pod Moskwą pod kierunkiem G. Flerowa. Eksperyment polegał na bombardowaniu ameryku jądrami neonu. Inny eksperyment (z użyciem kalifornu i azotu) został wykonany przez grupę A. Ghiorso w 1970 roku w Berkeley w Kalifornii i doprowadził do otrzymania izotopu 262Db.
