UHL

The International Hockey League (IHL) is a professional ice hockey league with teams in the United States. The league is headquartered in Rochester, MichiganFormed in 1991 as the Colonial Hockey League with the intent to fill the low minor league Great Lakes region niche abandoned by the original International Hockey League as it went upmarket, it had teams in Brantford, Ontario; Detroit, Michigan; Flint, Michigan; St. Thomas, Ontario; and Thunder Bay, Ontario. As the ECHL moved westward (into Toledo, Dayton, and Peoria), the CoHL moved eastward, into places like the Adirondacks, Danbury, CT, and Richmond, VA to name a few. During that expansion, the league became known as the United Hockey League, before renaming itself to the International Hockey League in 2007.

La Ligue internationale de hockey, en anglais est une ligue de hockey sur glace en Amérique du Nord qui existe sous ce nom depuis 2007. La ligue se nommait par le passé et ce depuis sa création en 1991. Les Komets de Fort Wayne remportent le premier championnat en 2008. L'équipe remporte alors la Coupe Turner, nouvelle incarnation d'une ancienne coupe, la Coupe Coloniale.

Die International Hockey League (IHL), ehemals Colonial Hockey League (CoHL) und United Hockey League (UHL), ist eine professionelle Eishockeyliga, die aus Teams der Vereinigten Staaten besteht. Die Ligazentrale ist in Rochester, Michigan.Gegründet wurde die Liga 1991 unter dem Namen Colonial Hockey League mit Teams aus Brantford, Detroit, Flint, St. Thomas und Thunder Bay. Die Liga änderte ihren Namen vor der Saison 1997/98 in United Hockey League. Im Laufe der Jahre wechselten die teilnehmenden Teams der Liga des öfteren. In die Saison 2006/07 ging die Liga mit zehn Mannschaften. Nach der Spielzeit wurde die Liga auf sechs Mannschaft verkleinert, da die Port Huron Flags, die Chicago Hounds, die Quad City Mallards und die Rockford IceHogs den Spielbetrieb einstellten und die Elmira Jackals in die East Coast Hockey League wechselten. Als neues Franchise wurden die Port Huron IceHawks aufgenommen.

UHL (ang. United Hockey League) - Zjednoczona liga hokeja to liga hokeja na lodzie z drużynami ze Stanów Zjednoczonych. UHL jest ligą o klasę niżej od American Hockey League i o dwie klasy niżej od National Hockey League. Liga powstała w 1991 roku. Liga ma swoją siedzibę w Lake St. Louis w Stanach Zjednoczonych. Każdego roku zwycięzcy playoff otrzymuje Colonial Cup. Niektóre zespoły podlegają zespołom z wyższych lig. Obecnie liga liczy 10 zespołów.

International Hockey League var även namnet på en annan professionell ishockeyliga 1945-2001, se International Hockey League International Hockey League, IHL, är en professionell ishockeyliga på mellannivå i Nordamerika. Ligan bildades säsongen, 1991-1992, under namnet Colonial Hockey League. Till säsongen 1997-1998 ändrades namnet till United Hockey League, men inför säsongen 2007-2008 bytte åter ligan namn, nu till "International Hockey League". Ligan innehåller säsongen 2007-2008 6 lag, som kommer från staterna runt Stora sjöarna i USA, främst Michigan. Några av lagen i IHL har samarbetsavtal med lag i NHL, och även lag i AHL, men de flesta lag är oberoende.
