UEFA coefficients

In European football, the UEFA coefficients are statistics used for ranking and seeding teams in club and international competitions.The coefficients are calculated by UEFA, who administer football within Europe. It uses three different coefficients:The coefficient of the national teams;The coefficient of national leagues;The coefficient of football clubs.The national team coefficients use three points for a win and one for a draw, while the league and club coefficients, two points are awarded for a win and one point for a draw.

Die UEFA-Fünfjahreswertung ist eine von der Europäischen Fußballunion (UEFA) aufgestellte Rangliste. Die Länderwertung dient der Ermittlung der Anzahl der Europapokal-Startplätze der einzelnen Landesverbände. Die Klubwertung wird für die Auslosung der Spielpaarungen verwendet.

Il coefficiente UEFA, a livello calcistico, è un sistema utilizzato dall'UEFA per classificare le squadre impegnate nei tornei continentali: le nazionali e i club. Per classificare le squadre di club e per decidere quante di queste, all'interno di ogni campionato nazionale, potrà avere accesso diretto (o indiretto attraverso i preliminari o all'Intertoto) alla Champions League o Coppa UEFA viene realizzata una speciale classifica per ogni campionato nazionale (Serie A, Premier League, Bundesliga ecc.).

De UEFA hanteert drie verschillende coëfficiënten: de coëfficiënt van de landenteams, de coëfficiënt voor competities en de coëfficiënt voor clubs. Voor de laatste twee coëfficiënten geldt dat er voor een overwinning 2 punten en voor een gelijkspel 1 punt kan worden gehaald. Voor de coëfficiënt van landenteams geldt dat er drie punten voor een overwinning kunnen worden verdiend. Vanaf 2006 zal er ook een vierde coëfficiënt komen die bepalend is voor nationale elftallen onder 21.
