Turku

Turku (IPA: , Swedish: ), founded in the 13th century, is the oldest and fifth largest city in Finland, with a population of 175,354 (as of 2006). Located [1] at the mouth of the Aura river in the southwest of the country, it is the capital city of both the region of Finland Proper and the province of Western Finland, as well as being the centre of the country's third largest urban area, with around 300,000 inhabitants. Turku has one of the largest Finland-Swedish populations in the country. Due to its location, the Port of Turku is one of the busiest seaports in Finland with around 3.7 million passengers per year[2].

Turku (Åbo en suédois) est une ville de Finlande fondée en 1229. Elle est située au sud-ouest du pays à l'embouchure de la rivière Aura. Avec une population de 174 906 habitants (2006), c'est la 5 ville du pays (après dans l'ordre Helsinki, Espoo, Tampere et Vantaa). L'agglomération, la 3 du pays, compte 300 000 habitants avec comme principales villes Raisio (23 900 hab), Kaarina (22 100 hab), Lieto (15 400 hab) et Naantali (14 000 hab). Administrativement, c'est la capitale de la région de Finlande du Sud-Ouest (Varsinais-Suomi) et de la province de Finlande occidentale.

Turku , schwedisch Åbo , ist eine Stadt an der Südwestküste Finnlands. Von der Gründung im 13. bis ins 19. Jahrhundert war Turku die wichtigste Stadt Finnlands. Heute ist Turku mit rund 177.000 Einwohnern die fünftgrößte Stadt und Zentrum des drittgrößten Ballungsraumes des Landes. Sie ist evangelischer Erzbischofssitz und Universitätsstadt. 5,2 er Einwohner Turkus sind schwedischsprachig, offiziell ist die Stadt  zweisprachig.

Türkü ist eine türkische Volksmusik-Richtung. Je nach Art seiner Sprüche, wird sie auch ninni, agit, deyis, hava genannt. Religiöse und philosophische Volkslieder nennt man auch Tekke. Türkü sind in der Türkei noch sehr beliebt und werden gelegentlich auch von modernen Popsängern gesungen. Wichtigstes Instrument ist die Saz.

Turku (szw. Åbo, ros. Ту́рку) – miasto w południowo-zachodniej Finlandii, dawna stolica kraju, obecna stolica prowincji Turku-Pori; 178 tys. mieszkańców, aglomeracja 260 tys. Jest to ważny port. Uniwersytet założony w 1640 roku. Rozwinięty przemysł. W skład zespołu miejskiego wchodzą: Raisio, Kaarina i Naantali. Jest atrakcyjnym turystycznie miejscem. Działa tam także m.in. polski konsulat honorowy.

Turku (Åbo in svedese, Aboa in latino) è una città finlandese di 175.557 abitanti, situata nella regione del Varsinais-Suomi. Turku è posizionata nell'area sud-occidentale del paese alla foce del fiume Aurajoki e, sia per la sua storia, sia per la sua posizione geografica, oltre il 5 ella popolazione parla svedese. Riguardo l'anno esatto della fondazione non c'è certezza, ma tradizionalmente la si fa risalire al 1229. Turku è la quinta città finlandese per popolazione. Se si guarda all'area metropolitana, la regione di Turku raggiunge i 290.000 abitanti, rappresentando la terza maggiore area urbana del paese dopo l'area di Helsinki, e quella di Tampere.
