Tungabhadra

The Tungabhadra River (Kannada:ತುಂಗಬಧ್ರಾ ನದಿ) is a sacred river in southern India that flows through the states of Karnataka and part of Andhra Pradesh to merge with the larger Krishna River in Andhra Pradesh. It is the chief tributary of the Krishna River. In the epic Ramayana the Tungabhadra river was known by the name of Pampa (though another river in Kerala now bears the name Pampa.)

La Tungabhadrâ (Kannara:ತುಂಗಬಧ್ರಾ ನದಿ) est un fleuve l'Inde méridionale. C'est l'affluent principal du fleuve Krishnâ. Il se forme au confluent de deux fleuves, le Tunga et le Bhadra, issus la pente orientale des Ghâts occidentaux, dans l'état du Karnataka. Le Tungabhadra coule vers l'Est à travers le plateau du Deccan, joignant le fleuve Krishnâ dans l'état d'Andhra Pradesh. Le Krishna poursuit sa route vers l'est pour se jeter dans le golfe du Bengale.

Der Tungabhadra ist ein Fluss in Südindien.Er ist der Hauptzufluss des Krishna und entsteht aus der Vereinigung der Flüsse Tunga und Bhadra. Die Quellflüsse des Tungabhadra entspringen in den östlichen Westghats, im indischen Bundesstaat Karnataka. Die Mündung in den Krishna liegt im indischen Bundesstaat Andhra Pradesh.
