Tristan da Cunha

Tristan da Cunha (IPA: ) is a group of remote islands in the south Atlantic Ocean, 2816 km (1750 miles) from South Africa and 3360 km (2088 miles) from South America. It is a dependency of the British overseas territory of Saint Helena, 2173 km (1350 miles) to the north. The territory consists of the main island, Tristan da Cunha (area: 98 km², 38 sq mi ), as well as several uninhabited islands:  Inaccessible Island and the Nightingale Islands. Gough Island, situated 395 km (245 mi) south east of the main island, is also part of the territory.

Tristan da Cunha [] ist eine Inselgruppe im südlichen Atlantischen Ozean, zu der neben der gleichnamigen 104 km² großen Hauptinsel noch weitere, kleinere Inseln gehören. Auf der Hauptinsel, die als die abgelegenste bewohnte Insel der Welt gilt, leben etwa 300 Menschen. Die Inselgruppe gehört zum  britischen Überseegebiet St. Helena.

Tristan da Cunha è un remoto gruppo di isole nell'Oceano Atlantico meridionale, distante 2816 km (1750 miglia) dal Sud Africa e 3360 km (2088 miglia) dal Sud America. Appartiene ai Territori britannici dell'Atlantico il cui capoluogo amministrativo è l'isola di Sant'Elena, situata 2161 km (1350 miglia) più a nord. Il territorio è composto dall'isola principale, Tristan da Cunha (98 km²), e da una serie di isole disabitate: l'Isola Inaccessible e le Isole Nightingale. Anche l'Isola Gough, situata a 395 km a sud est dell'isola principale, fa parte del territorio.
