Tripoli (Greek, Modern: Τρίπολη, Katharevousa: -s; older form and Latin: Tripolis,rarely Tripolitsa, Tripolitza and Tripolizza) is a city in the central part of the Peloponnesos, Greece, and the capital of the prefecture of Arcadia. The municipality is the largest city in the prefecture as well and presently one of the few growing places in Arcadia. The distance from Pyrgos is about 145 km E, 125 km E of Olympia, 144 km SE of Patras and ESE of Kalavryta, 78 km (old: 120 km) SW of Corinth and about 148 (old: 200 km) WSW of Athens, W of Argos and Nafplio, NW of Leonidi, N of Sparta, NNE of Kalamata, 33 km NE of Megalopoli and NE of Kyparissia, E of Stemnitsa and ESE of Dimitsana. Today Tripoli is the seat of the recently founded University of Peloponnesos with two departments of the Sciences and Technology School and one department of the Economics and Administration School.

Tripoli (grec: ; Tripolis, parfois Tripolitsa, Tripolitza ou Tripolizza) est le chef-lieu du nome d'Arcadie dans le centre du Péloponnèse, au pied du mont Apano-Khrépa (anciennement Ménale), au centre d'une plaine fertile. Au moyen-âge, la ville portait le nom de Drobolitsa. De nos jours, Tripoli est le siège de la récente Université du Péloponnèse.

Tripoli (en arabe : طرابلس Tarābulus est la capitale de la Libye. Son nom signifie "les Trois Villes", parce qu'elle est issue du regroupement des trois villes anciennes d'Oea, Leptis et Sabrata. Elle a donné son nom à la Tripolitaine, région libyenne dans laquelle elle se trouve.

Tripolis ( Tarabulus, früher Oea) ist die Hauptstadt Libyens und hat ca. 1.780.000 Einwohner (Stand Oktober 2007). Sie ist der politische, wirtschaftliche und kulturelle Mittelpunkt sowie Verkehrsknotenpunkt des Landes. Zur Unterscheidung von der im Arabischen gleichlautenden Stadt Tripoli wird Tripolis im Arabischen oft auch genannt.

Trypolis (arab. طرابلس الغرب – Ţarābulus al-Gharb) – stolica Libii, w Trypolitanii, nad Morzem Śródziemnym. Miasto liczy 1,5 mln mieszkańców (2003), podczas gdy w 1973 mieszkało tu ponad 481 tys. osób.Trypolis to największe miasto kraju, a także główny port i ośrodek przemysłowy. Rozwinęły się tu takie gałęzie przemysłu jak spożywczy, meblarski, włókienniczy, metalalowy, gumowy (produkcja opon) i poligraficzny. Znajdują się tu także zakłady odsalania wody morskiej, montownie samochodów i rafineria ropy naftowej. Międzynarodowy port lotniczy ma regularne połączenia z takimi miastami jak Rzym, Tunis, Bengazi, Akra, Kano czy Brazzaville.
