A tall, gifted striker who grew up in Argentina, he usually comes on as a substitute. Lethal in counter attacks and a fine finisher. Scored 20 league goals for AS Monaco in 99-00, he generally plays in or around the box. He has scored 6 times for France, including the winner in the 3-2 home victory over Iceland in October 99 that secured France's place in Euro 2000. He played in five of France’s seven 1998 FIFA World Cup matches, scoring once, but after a spell with the u-21’s, he has firmly rediscovered his form and is one reason why the French attack looks a lot more potent than it did when they won the World Cup.
