Province autonome de Trente
La province autonome de Trente ou Trentin est une province du nord-est de l'Italie, ayant pour chef-lieu la ville de Trente, qui lui a donné son nom. Le Trentin s'articule sur un axe principal constitué par l'ample sillon longitudinal du fleuve Adige, avec à l'ouest les Alpes Rhétiques méridionales et à l'Est les Dolomites. Ses contours dessinent la forme d'un papillon, emblème de la province

Trente (provincie)
De autonome provincie Trente is gelegen in de Noord-Italiaanse regio Trentino-Alto Adige. In het noorden grenst ze aan de provincie Bozen-Zuid-Tirol, in het oosten aan de provincies Belluno en Vicenza, in het zuiden aan de provincie Verona en in het westen aan de provincies Brescia en Sondrio.
Samen met de Duitstalige provincie Bozen-Zuid-Tirol vormt de provincie Trente de autonome regio Trentino-Zuid-Tirol. Pas vanaf 1918 maakt het deel uit van Italië, voor die tijd werd het gebied Welsch-Tirol, Romaans Tirol, genoemd en behoorde het toe aan Oostenrijk.
De officiële taal van de provincie is Italiaans. In het Valle dei Mocheni (Fernsental) en de plaats Luserna (Lusern) wordt echter Duits gesproken, in het Valle di Fassa naast Italiaans ook Ladinisch (Retoromaans)
