The Transports en commun lyonnais (usually referred to as TCL) is literally the Lyon public transport system. It is the second largest public transport system in France (after Paris), and covers the 62 communes that make up the Urban community of Lyon, spread over 606 km². The TCL manages:4 metro lines and 2 funiculars 3 tram lines, with a 4th to be opened in April 2009 Over 100 buses, including electric trolleybuses.TCL is managed by two companies: Sytral sets policies and finances the infrastructure, while Keolis Lyon runs the network on a day-to-day basis.
