השתלה Transplantation
 השתלה של איבר (כיליה, לב, כבד וכו`) או של רקמה (מח עצם) אצל אדם הזקוק לכך בדרך עקב אובדן הפעילות של האיבר או הרקמה. האיבר המושתל מתקבל בד"כ מתורם הדומה מבחינה גנטית לנתרם. קיים גם מצב של תרומה עצמית המבוצע בעיקר כאשר מח עצם נלקח מאדם לפני טיפול מסויים ומוחזר לגופו לאחר סיום הטיפול. מושתל זקוק בד"כ לטיפולים תרופתיים המיועדים לדכא את התהליך הטבעי של דחיה המופעל ע"י הגוף כלפי האבר או הרקמה המושתלים.
