Thomas James "Tom" Vilsack (; born December 13, 1950) is an American politician, a member of the Democratic Party, and presently the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture. He served as the 40th Governor of the state of Iowa. He was first elected in 1998 and re-elected to a second four-year term in 2002. On November 30, 2006, he formally launched his candidacy for the Democratic Party's nomination for President of the United States              in the 2008 election, but ended his bid on February 23, 2007.

Han var guvernör i Iowa 1999–2007 är för närvarande jordbruksminister i Regeringen Obama. Han tillkännagav 2006 sin avsikt att ställa upp i presidentvalet 2008 men gav upp redan i februari 2007.

Poco dopo la sua nascita venne abbandonato dai suoi genitori biologici in un orfanotrofio cattolico da cui nel 1951 venne prelevato da Bud e Dolly Vilsack, che lo adottarono. Dopo essersi laureato in giurisprudenza all'Hamilton College si è stabilito a Mount Pleasant, Iowa, dove risiede con la moglie Ann Christine "Christie" Bell ed i figli Jess e Doug.
