Time stop

Closing a position if it has not moved in your favor within a predetermined period of time. A time stop is especially useful to option traders, as an options position that is not making any net progress can lose value even though the underlying stock has not lost value. A time stop seeks to minimize this risk if the position is not moving in your favor fairly quickly.
