Old World babbler
The Old World babblers or timaliids are a large family of mostly Old World passerine birds. They are rather diverse in size and coloration, but are characterised by soft fluffy plumage. These are birds of tropical areas, with the greatest variety in Southeast Asia and the Indian Subcontinent. The timaliids are one of two unrelated groups of birds known as babblers, the other being the Australasian Babblers of the family Pomatostomidae (also known as pseudo-babblers).

Timalien
Die Timalien (Timaliidae) sind eine formreiche und artenreiche Familie in der Ordnung der Sperlingsvögel (Passeriformes), die ausschließlich in der Alten Welt vorkommt. Die meisten Arten der Timalien bewohnen die tropischen Zonen in Afrika und Südasien.

Timaliidae
L'ancienne famille des timaliidés (ou Timaliidae), actuellement incluse dans celle des sylviidae, appartient à la classe des oiseaux et à l'ordre des passériformes.

Tymaliowate
Tymaliowate (Timaliidae) - rodzina ptaków z rzędu wróblowych, obejmująca około dwustu pięćdziesięciu gatunków ptaków. Są to ptaki w większości tropikalne, zamieszkujące obszary Starego Świata.
Jest to grupa bardzo zróżnicowana pod względem wielkości i kolorystyki upierzenia. Ich cechą wspólną jest faktura upierzenia; pióra są miękkie i puszyste. Większość gatunków ma mocne nogi, odzwierciedlające ich częściowo naziemny tryb życia. Są to ptaki nie podejmujące wędrówek.
Systematyka tej grupy ptaków prze wiele lat była i ciągle pozostaje bardzo dynamiczna. W przeszłości zaliczano do tej grupy wiele gatunków, które obecnie znajdują się w takich rodzinach jak sępowronki czy pokrzewkowate. Prawdopodobnie grupa ta będzie podlegała dalszym zmianom klasyfikacyjnym.
