Thun

Thun (French: Thoune) is a municipality in the district of Thun in the canton of Berne in Switzerland with about 42,136 inhabitants (1 January 2006). It is located where the River Aare flows out of Lake Thun (Thunersee), 19 km south of Bern. Besides tourism, machine and apparatus engineering, the largest garrison of the country, the food industry and publishing are of economic importance to Thun.

Thun (frz. Thoune) ist eine politische Gemeinde und der Hauptort des gleichnamigen Amtsbezirks des Kantons Bern in der Schweiz. Die Stadt liegt am Ausfluss der Aare aus dem Thunersee. Neben dem Tourismus sind Maschinen- und Apparatebau, Nahrungsmittelindustrie und Verlagswesen von wirtschaftlicher Bedeutung. Thun ist auch die grösste Garnisonsstadt der Schweizer Armee.

Thun (franc. Thoune) - miasto w Konfederacji Szwajcarskiej (Szwajcaria), w kantonie Berno.Zamieszkane przez 41 899 osób (stan z 31.12. 2004). Usytuowane nad rzeką Aare wpadającą do jeziora Thun (niem. Thunersee).Znane z najstarszej w Europie panoramy miejskiej wykonanej w latach 1809-1814 przez Marquarda Wochera, o wymiarach: wysokość 7,5 m, długość 38,3 m i powierzchnia 287,25 m². Oprócz tego warte zwiedzenia są górujący nad miastem zamek z XII w. z muzeum historycznym oraz XVI-wieczny ratusz.
