Thriller was a short-lived, 1980s comic book series published by DC Comics. The series, regarded as innovative in terms of narrative and design, was originally written by Robert Loren Fleming and drawn by Trevor Von Eeden. The book was sold only through the direct market. The taglines for the series were, "She has 7 seconds to save the world " and "You can't read it fast enough". The "she" in question was protagonist Angie Thriller. The "7 seconds" referred to a team of operatives who assisted her in various conflicts.

Der Thriller [] (engl. thrill, „Nervenkitzel“) ist sowohl ein Roman- als auch ein Filmgenre mit verschiedenen, sich teilweise überlappenden, Subgenres. Charakteristisch für Thriller ist Spannung, die nicht nur in kurzen Passagen, sondern fast während des gesamten Handlungsverlaufs präsent ist. Kurzzeitige, oder bei Vertretern wie Matthew Reilly sogar annähernd durchgehende, rasante Action können jedoch ebenfalls auftreten. Häufig anzutreffen sind weitläufige Spannungsbögen, Cliffhanger und Rote Heringe.

Dreszczowiec (ang. thriller) - rodzaj utworu sensacyjnego, powieści, filmu lub serialu telewizyjnego, mającego wywołać u czytelnika bądź widza dreszcz emocji. W odróżnieniu od horroru  tajemniczość i niesamowitość w thrillerze nie mają jednak cech nadprzyrodzonych; zagrożenie jest realne, często tkwi w psychice głównego bohatera, toczącego walkę wewnętrzną, choć ostatnimi czasy coraz częściej można spotkać się z dziełami (zwłaszcza filmowymi) zawierającymi w sobie mieszankę horroru jak i thrillera. W zależności od podgatunku fabuła thrillera opiera się zwykle na obronie jakiegoś dobra - życia ludzkiego, państwa, społeczności; zaskakujące rozwiązanie akcji następuje pod koniec utworu. Prekursorem thrillera w filmie był Alfred Hitchcock (Ptaki). W literaturze elementy thrillera pojawiają się od lat 60. XX wieku (m.in. u Fredericka Forsytha, Alistaira MacLeana).
