The Walt Disney Company ( NYSE: DIS) is the second largest media and entertainment corporation in the world [1] according to Forbes. Founded on October 16, 1923 by brothers, Walt and Roy Disney as a small animation studio, it has become one of the biggest Hollywood studios, and owner of eleven theme parks and several television networks, including the American Broadcasting Company (ABC).

La sede centrale si trova a Burbank, in California (Stati Uniti). Nel 2006 la Disney ha fatturato 35,3 miliardi di dollari, e le sue azioni fanno parte del Dow Jones Industrial Average. Dalla sua fondazione ha sempre portato il nome di Walt Disney Productions, fino al 1986, quando le venne dato quello che è il nome attuale.
