The Slackers

The Slackers are one of the more well-known bands emerging from the New York City ska scene, having been formed in Brooklyn in 1991. The band's sound is a mix of ska, rocksteady, reggae, dub, soul, swing, garage rock, and jazz. The Slackers' notability is credited to their prolific career, tours of North America, Europe, and elsewhere, and signing to notable punk label Hellcat Records.

Les Slackers est un groupe de ska new-yorkais formé à Brooklyn en 1991. Leur musique est également teintée de blues, de garage, de rocksteady et de reggae. Le groupe a donné des centaines de concerts aux Etats-Unis, en Europe, au Japon ainsi qu'au Brésil. Ils ont participé au Montreal Jazz Festival en 2000, Printemps de Bourges en 2001, ou bien encore au Festival de Dour en 2002.

The Slackers é uma das melhores e mais conhecidas bandas da nova cena de ska de Nova Iorque.Formada no Brooklyn em 1991, a banda toca uma mistura de ska, rocksteady, reggae, soul, swing, garage rock, e jazz. Faz parte do selo punk "HellCat Records".Vários projetos paralelos surgiram da banda, entre eles: "Dave Hillyard Rocksteady 7", "Da Whole Thing" e "SKAndalous All Stars", além do projeto acústico do vocalista Vic Ruggiero.
