The Silent Force

The Silent Force is the third studio album by the Dutch symphonic metal band Within Temptation, released on November 15, 2004, by GUN Records.It was released as three versions: a basic version with jewel case and no booklet; a standard version with jewel case and an eight page booklet; and a premium version as a digipak with luxury artwork, enhanced CD-ROM content and two bonus tracks (see below).Only two months after its release, the album reached Gold status in Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium and in mid-2005 also in Finland.

The Silent Force - wydany 15 listopada 2004 roku przez holenderski zespół Within Temptation po dosyć długiej, bo czteroletniej przerwie, album. Nagrany z wielkim rozmachem, z towarzyszeniem orkiestry symfonicznej i 80-osobowego chóru. Płyta zawiera zarówno tradycyjnie mocniejsze gitarowe kompozycje (See Who I Am, Jillian) jak i sporą ilość orkiestralnych ballad (Pale, Memories, Somewhere).

The Silent Force è il terzo album studio della band olandese Within Temptation, uscito nel 2004. Anticipato dal primo singolo estratto Stand My Ground, The Silent Force non ritarda a riscuotere un enorme successo ed a guadagnarsi il disco di platino a soli 3 mesi dall'uscita. Ad oggi, infatti, l'album ha venduto più di 500.000 copie nel mondo. Gli altri due singolo estratti sono stati Memories ed Angels. Quest'ultimo ha fatto vincere alla band un premio come "Migliore Rock Band" oltre che al premio come "Band Olandese più conosciuta all'estero" dal loro paese natale. In The Silent Force, si mantiene un po' dello stile celtico originario del loro precedente album Mother Earth (vedi Pale, l'intro di Jillian, ecc.), quindi dal punto di vista della scrittura di certi pezzi, anche stavolta la band è stata aiutata: Daniel Gibson, nonché produttore dell'album, ha prestato ausilio alla band durante la composizione di Stand My Ground, Aquarius e A Dangerous Mind (bonustrack della versione Platinum).
