The JAMs

The KLF (also known as The Justified Ancients of Mu Mu (The JAMs), The Timelords and other names; the acronym KLF has no "official" meaning but is sometimes interpreted as "Kopyright Liberation Front") were one of the seminal bands of the British acid house movement during the late 1980s and early 1990s.

The KLF (Kopyright Liberation Front), plus récemment connu sous le nom de K Foundation, ou encore The Timelords, ou The JAMs, fut un groupe de musique britannique à l'époque du mouvement Acid House au Royaume-Uni fin des années 1980 et début des années 1990. Fondé par Bill Drummond (alias King Boy D, Time Boy) et Jimmy Cauty (alias Rockman Rock, Lord Rock), issu de la dissolution du groupe de  sampling The Justified Ancients of Mu Mu, the KLF publia une série de succès mondiaux.

The KLF (Kopyright Liberation Front oder auch Kings of Low Frequency) war eine einflussreiche britische Musikgruppe in den späten 1980ern und frühen 1990ern. Die Bandbreite ihrer Musik reichte von Ambient bis zu House und gelten als Erfinder des Trance, wobei die Gruppe dabei eine gewisse Dreistigkeit im Umgang mit Samples bewies. Im englischen Sprachraum hat sich für die von The KLF geprägte Beimischung von Publikumslärm über House-Produktionen der Begriff Stadium House geprägt.

The KLF was een Britse chillout- en acid house-groep, die eind jaren '80 en begin jaren '90 van de 20e eeuw enkele hits scoorde. Waarschijnlijk was 'KLF' een afkorting voor Kopyright Liberation Front of Kings of the Low Frequency, hoewel de groep zelf beweerde dat het nergens voor stond. In Nederland scoorde The KLF een nummer 1-hit met Last train to trancentral in 1992.

The Jam was een Britse groep bestaande uit zanger/gitarist Paul Weller, bassist/zanger Bruce Foxton en drummer Rick Buckler. The Jam was één van de populairste punkbands aan het eind van de jaren 70. De groep stond bekend om hun melodische punk muziek, met een typisch Engelse uitstraling (modstijl). De teksten van The Jam idealiseerden het typische Engeland, net als bijvoorbeeld The Kinks. Hierin onderscheidde The Jam zich van stijl- en tijdgenoten als The Clash en de Sex Pistols, die meer opriepen tot progressieve veranderingen (The Clash) of vernietiging (Sex Pistols).

KLF, The Kopyright Liberation Front, bestod av de båda brittiska konstnärerna och musikerna Bill Drummond och Jimmy Cauty. KLF är mest kända för den dansmusik de gjorde åren 1987–1992. De använde många olika namn, bland annat The Justified Ancients of Mu Mu (The JAMs) och The Timelords. Efter 1992 uppträdde de som The K Foundation, The One World Orchestra och 2K.
