Text

TEXT is the band founded by three of the four ex-members of hardcore band Refused. Stylistically, they have little in common with Refused apart from this fact. Their debut album, Text, is a mix of spoken word, music of various styles, and ambient sound effects, often producing an ethereal, avant-garde sound. Apart from the three "Tableau" tracks (which are one piece, split up across the album), each track could be described as fitting into a different genre. This makes the categorization of the band as "punk" questionable.

Text (lat. textum: Gewebe, Text) bezeichnet eine abgegrenzte, zusammenhängende Äußerung in geschriebener Sprache, im weiteren Sinne auch die nicht geschriebene, aber schreibbare Sprachinformation (beispielsweise eines Liedes, Films oder einer improvisierten Theateraufführung).Text benötigt zu seiner Darstellung eine Schrift, deren Zeichen Phoneme, Silben oder Wörter bzw. Begriffe kodieren. Verschiedene Kulturen verwenden hierzu unterschiedliche Alphabete.Durch die Einführung der geschriebenen Sprache wurde eine Möglichkeit geschaffen, Texte, wie zum Beispiel Geschichtsschreibung, Erzählungen und Sagen für die Nachwelt zu archivieren. Ein großer Teil unseres Wissens über vergangene Epochen stammt aus schriftlichen Aufzeichnungen, die archiviert wurden oder zufällig erhalten blieben. Texte aus Kulturen mit einer schriftlichen Überlieferungstradition unterscheiden sich in ihrem Aufbau von Texten aus Kulturen, in denen die mündliche Überlieferung eine größere Rolle spielt.

Il testo, dal latino textus (con significato originario di tessuto o trama), è un insieme di parole, correlate tra loro per costituire un'unità logico-concettuale. Con il termine "testo" si può anche indicare un insieme di segni quali: gesti, espressioni facciali, modo di esprimersi; in un certo senso è possibile definire il testo come un qualsiasi strumento di comunicazione. Tra i vari tipi di testo, quello più importante è sicuramente quello narrativo, in quanto l'unico a essere riconosciuto come tale.
