Tashkent

This article deals with the historic principality of Chach. For other uses of the word Chach, see Chach (disambiguation). Tashkent (, ) is the capital of Uzbekistan and also of the Tashkent Province. The population of the city in 2006 was 2.1 million. In medieval times the town and the province were known as "Chach". Later, the town came to be known as Chachkand/Chashkand, meaning "Chach City." (Kand, qand, kent, kad, kath, kud--all meaning a city, are derived from the Old Iranian, kanda, meaning a town or a city. They are found in city names like Samarkand, Yarkand, Penjikent etc.).

Tachkent, ou parfois Tashkent (Toshkent ou Тошкент en ouzbek, Ташкент en russe), est une métropole d'Asie centrale, capitale de l'Ouzbékistan. Située à l'est du pays, à quelques dizaines de kilomètres de la frontière kazakh, elle compte aujourd'hui plus de 2,3 millions d'habitants. Administrativement, elle est à la fois une ville (Toshkent Shahri) et la capitale de la région de Tachkent (Toshkent Viloyati).

Taschkent (usbek. Toshkent, früher kyrill. Тошкент; tadschik. Тошканд/Toschkand bzw. ; russ. Ташкент/Taschkent; früher auch Schasch oder Binkent) ist die Hauptstadt Usbekistans mit ca. 2 Mio. Einwohnern, nördlich der großen Seidenstraße an der Grenze zu Kasachstan am westlichen Rand des Tianshangebirges gelegen, Industriestadt (Energiewirtschaft, Maschinen- und Flugzeugbau, Baumwollverarbeitung, Lebensmittelindustrie), Verkehrsknoten mit U-Bahn und Flughafen, Kulturzentrum mit Universität, Hochschulen, Forschungsinstituten, Theater, Museen, Observatorium und Zoo.

Taszkent (uzb. Toshkent, تاشکند; ros. Ташкент) – stolica Uzbekistanu w Azji Środkowej położona na rzeką Czyrczyk na przedgórzu Tien-szanu. Zamieszkuje ją 2 mln mieszkańców, zespól miejski 3,2 mln (2006). Jest głównym ośrodkiem przemysłowym i kulturalno-naukowym kraju, jednym z największych miast Azji Środkowej.

Taškent (o Tashkent; in uzbeko Toshkent o Тошкент; in russo Taškent o Ташке́нт), città di 2.073.000 abitanti, è la capitale dell'Uzbekistan, in un'oasi irrigata dai fiumi Circik e Keles. Il nome della città è mutato più volte: sotto la dominazione cinese della Dinastia Han era chiamata Beitan. Più tardi cambiò il nome in Chachkand, che divenne poi Tashkand e quindi Tashkent. Maggiore centro economico e culturale della repubblica uzbeka, è sede di cotonifici, setifici, stabilimenti meccanici, industrie chimiche e riveste un importante ruolo di nodo di comunicazioni.
