Tarja Halonen
Tarja Kaarina Halonen (IPA: ) (born December 24, 1943, in Helsinki, Finland) is the eleventh and current President of Finland. She began her first six-year term of office in 2000 and was re-elected on January 29, 2006. Her current term expires in 2012. She is the first woman to hold the office. She married her long time cohabitator, Dr. Pentti Arajärvi, after she was elected President for the first term.
