Tanzimat

The Tanzimat (Ottoman Turkish: تنظيمات), meaning reorganization of the Ottoman Empire, was a period of reformation that began in 1839 and ended with the First Constitutional Era in 1876. The modernization process of the Ottoman Empire (and that of the Republic of Turkey which succeeded the Ottoman state) were effectively associated with the Tanzimat reforms. The reforms aimed to encourage Ottomanism among the many ethnic groups that had secessionist goals and stop the rise of nationalist movements within the Ottoman Empire. The reforms tried, but failed, to integrate non−Muslims and non−Turks more thoroughly into the Ottoman society through civil liberties and regulations.

Les Tanzimat ("réorganisation" en turc osmanli) furent une ère de réformes dans l'Empire ottoman qui durèrent de 1839 à 1876, date à laquelle fut promulguée la Constitution ottomane, suivie de l'élection d'un premier Parlement ottoman, dissous deux ans plus tard par le Sultan Abdülhamid II, qui ne rétablit la constitution et le parlement qu'après la révolution des Jeunes-Turcs en 1908, après trente ans de stagnation et de monarchie absolue.

Als Tanzimat (arab. Anordnungen, Neuordnung) wird im allgemeinen die Periode tiefgreifender Reformen im Osmanischen Reich bezeichnet, die 1839 begann und 1876 mit dem Übergang zur Ersten Konstitutionellen Periode endete. Die Reformen liefen schließlich darauf hinaus, dass der Sultan auf seine unbeschränkten Rechte über Leben und Eigentum seiner Beamten verzichtete und die Ministerialressorts festgelegt, die zivilrechtliche Gleichheit aller Untertanen ausgesprochen sowie das Finanz-, Justiz- und Heerwesen reorganisiert wurden.

Tanzimat (w języku osmańsko-tureckim تنظيمات) to okres reform w Imperium ottomańskim w latach 1839 - 1876. Termin ten w języku osmańsko-tureckim oznacza ,,reorganizację".Tanzimat powstał zarówno dzięki inicjatywie sułtanów Mahmuda II i Abdulmecida I jak i za sprawą inicjatywy doświadczonych na europejskich placówkach dyplomatycznych doradców: Ali Paszy, Midhata Paszy, Fuada Paszy oraz Raszida Paszy. Doszli do wniosku, że stare religijne i wojskowe instytucje nie były w stanie sprostać potrzebom imperium we współczesnym świecie. Większość symbolicznych zmian, takich jak zmiana ubiorów, miała na celu zmianę mentalności i sposobu zarządzania imperium. Wiele reform zostało bezpośrednio zapożyczonych od europejskich mocarstw. Reformy przewidywały powszechny pobór do wojska, zmianę systemu nauczania oraz miały na celu ukrócenie korupcji.
