The Tall Ships' Races are races for sail training "tall ships" (sailing ships). The races are designed to encourage international friendship and training for young people in the art of sailing. The races are held annually in European waters and consists of two racing legs of several hundred nautical miles, and a "cruise in company" between the legs. Over one half (fifty-percent) of the crew of each ship participating in the races must consist of young people.

Die Tall Ships’ Races – im Englischen offiziell meist The Tall Ships’ Races, dt. etwa „(Die) Großsegler-Rennen“; von 1973 bis 2003 Cutty Sark Tall Ships’ Races – sind eine erstmals 1956 ausgetragene Langstreckenregatta für Großsegler und andere Segelschiffe mit großenteils jungen Besatzungen (16 bis 25 Jahre). Bei der Regatta steht einerseits das Wettsegeln auf Zeit im Vordergrund, andererseits auch das Ziel der Völkerverständigung und des Austauschs zwischen jungen Menschen sowie die Förderung von „Sail Training“ (Segelausbildung zum Ziel der persönlichen – physischen und psychischen – Entwicklung und Charakterbildung).

C'est en 1953, que Bernard Morgan, ancien avocat londonien à la retraite, eut l'idée d'organiser une course de grands voiliers du monde entier. Plus il parlait de son idée, plus des oreilles bienveillantes s'enflammèrent pour ce projet dont le Comte Mountbatten, le premier Sea Lord et le Duc d'Edimbourg.

The Tall Ships' Races är en internationell havskappsegling för segelfartyg och stora segelbåtar som har arrangerats sedan 1956. Kappseglingen arrangeras av Sail Training International.

Operacja Żagiel (ang. The Tall Ships' Races lub Operation Sail) – zlot żaglowców przeważnie połączony z regatami oraz imprezami okolicznościowymi, organizowany przez Sail Training Association mające propagować ideę wychowania młodzieży na pokładach wielkich żaglowców.
