Takab (
Persian: تکاب;
Kurdish: Tikab) is one of the
cities and townships in the
West Azarbaijan province in
Iran. Its ancient name is Shiz.The famous historical complex
Takht-i-Suleiman is situated to the North-East of the city. Takht-i-Suleiman was one of Takab's oldest
Zoroastrian fire temples during the
Sassanid Dynasty and had the name Azargoshasb (or Azar Goshasb or Azargashasb).The city's population is mainly kurmanjs {north branch of kurds} and surani kurds. City is a great example of shia and sunni living together in peace as majority of Kurds are Sunni while kurmanjs are Shia. due to some reasonse,in the last years,kurmanjs language has changed to turkish.tributes of shaghi{shaghaghi-shakaki},sharrani,musolani,zakhoranni{zaffaranlo} and serbiani still speak in kurmanji.
