Tadeusz Bór-Komorowski

General Count Tadeusz Komorowski (Korczak Coat of Arms) (June 1, 1895 - August 24, 1966), better known by the name Bór-Komorowski (after one of his wartime code-names: Bór) was a Polish military leader.Komorowski was born in Lwów, Austria-Hungary (now L'viv, Ukraine). In the First World War he served as an officer in the Austro-Hungarian Army, and after the war became an officer in the Polish Army, rising to command the Grudziadz Cavalry School.After taking part in the fighting against the German invaders of Poland at the beginning of World War II in 1939, Komorowski functioned as one of the organisers of the Polish underground in the Kraków area, with the code-name Bór. In July 1941 he became deputy commander of the Home Army (Armia Krajowa or AK), and in March 1943 gained appointment as its commander, with the rank of Brigadier-General.

Graf Tadeusz Komorowski (* 1. Juni 1895 in Terebowlja, Galizien, Österreich-Ungarn [heute Gebiet Tarnopol, Ukraine]; † 24. August 1966 in Grove Farm, Buckinghamshire, Großbritannien) war Oberbefehlshaber der Polnischen Heimatarmee (Armia Krajowa – AK).Komorowski (Deckname „Bór“) nahm am Ersten Weltkrieg als Offizier im österreich-ungarischen Heer teil. Ab Juli 1943 Chef der Armia Krajowa, gab er am 1. August 1944 als Oberbefehlshaber den Befehl zum  Warschauer Aufstand. Am 5. Oktober 1944 begab er sich mit den letzten AK-Kämpfern über eine Barrikade in deutsche Kriegsgefangenschaft. Während der Kriegsgefangenschaft wurde er symbolisch zum Oberbefehlshaber der polnischen Streitkräfte ernannt. Nach dem Krieg ging er ins Exil nach  London. Von 1947 bis 1949 war Komorowski Premier der Exilregierung.

Posiadał tytuł hrabiego. Spokrewniony z gen. Tadeuszem Rozwadowskim. Karierę wojskową rozpoczął w armii austro-węgierskiej. W czasie I wojny światowej służył na froncie rosyjskim i włoskim. W Wojsku Polskim od 1918. W wojnie bolszewickiej dowódca 12. Pułku Ułanów. Brał udział w bitwie pod Komarowem (został w niej ranny).
