TOGA
This article is about the aviation term, for the Roman garment, see
Toga. TOGA is an
acronym used in aviation, standing for Take Off/Go Around. It is used to refer to buttons, often mounted on the throttle quadrant, that allow the engines to quickly be brought to full power, either for
take off or in the event of a
go around. In some cases, during emergencies, such as a
microburst, the TOGA button can be used as a shortcut instead of using the throttle lever.

Toga
The toga, a distinctive garment of
Ancient Rome, was a sash of perhaps twenty feet (6 meters) in length which was wrapped around the body and was generally worn over a
tunic. The toga was invariably made of
wool, and the tunic under it was often made of
linen. For most of Rome's history, the toga was a garment worn exclusively by men, while women wore the
stola.
Non-citizens were forbidden to wear the toga.

Toge
La toge (du
latin toga) est le
vêtement des
citoyens de la Rome antique, de mode étrusque, descendant de l'
himation grecque ; elle s'est diffusée à l'aristocratie du monde latinisé, jusqu'en
Égypte. C'est avant tout un costume d'apparat qui nécessite l'aide d'esclaves pour être drapée, tant l'ajustement est compliqué et malaisé. La différence essentielle entre l'himation grec et la toge romaine consiste dans la forme donnée à la pièce de drap qui la constitue : celle-ci est taillée en demi-cercle, tandis que l'himation est taillé en carré. Le diamètre de la toge est d'environ six mètres 50 sur deux mètres 50.

Toga – historycznie był to wierzchni, lekki
strój noszony w
starożytnym Rzymie; togę przywdziewano na
tunikę, pozostawiając przy tym odsłonięte ramię.Obecnie toga jest strojem urzędowym używanym przez niektóre zawody prawnicze na
rozprawie sądowej; jej wzór jest w Polsce określony przepisami prawa. Toga jest
suknią fałdzistą z lekkiego czarnego materiału wełnianego lub wełnopodobnego, sięgającą powyżej kostek – około 25 cm od ziemi. Toga u dołu ma w obwodzie od 270 do 278 cm i od karczka w dół ułożona jest w kontrafałdy: po trzy na obydwu przodach togi oraz pięć do siedmiu na plecach. Kołnierz togi jest okrągły, płasko wyłożony. Toga zapinana jest na pięć guzików. Rękawy mają u dołu w obwodzie 75 cm. Przy kołnierzu togi wszyty jest żabot, długości 21 cm, ułożony w 13 kontrafałd. Kolor żabotu różni się w zależności od zawodu prawniczego:
sędziowie i ławnicy (z żabotem koloru fioletowego), przy czym dodatkowo sędzia przewodniczący rozprawie nakłada na kołnierz togi łańcuch z wizerunkiem orła,
prokuratorzy (czerwony żabot),
adwokaci (zielony żabot),
radcowie prawni (niebieski żabot),radcowie
Prokuratorii Generalnej Skarbu Państwa (błękitnoszary żabot).
