In common usage, theft is the taking of another person's property without that person's permission or consent with the intent to deprive the rightful owner of it. The word is also used as an informal shorthand term for some crimes against property, such as burglary, embezzlement, larceny, looting, robbery, shoplifting and fraud. In some jurisdictions, theft is considered to be synonymous with larceny; in others, theft has replaced larceny. Someone who carries out an act of or makes a career of theft is known as a thief. Thief ist eine Computerspielreihe, die das Genre der Schleich-Shooter, einer Untergruppe der Ego-Shooter, begründet hat. Die Serie besteht insgesamt aus drei Teilen: Thief: The Dark Project (1998), Thief II: The Metal Age (2000) und Thief: Deadly Shadows (2004).

Spelserien ägs av Eidos men har utvecklats av Looking Glass Studios (Thief: The Dark Project, Thief 2: The Metal Age) och Ion Storm (Thief: Deadly Shadows). Spelserien blev känd för sitt annorlunda koncept som skiljer sig från andra spel. Konceptet som bland annat kom att kallas sneaker eller sneak em up (smygarspel på svenska) bygger på att spelaren måste klara sig genom spelet genom att smyga sig fram och hålla sig dold snarare än att storma igenom banorna som i många andra spel vid den tiden.

Kradzież (art. 278 kk) to zabór cudzej rzeczy w celu przywłaszczenia. Pod pojęciem zaboru rozumie się fizyczne wyjęcie rzeczy spod władztwa właściciela. Dotyczy to również przedmiotu pozostawionego przez niego w znanym mu miejscu w zamiarze późniejszego jej zabrania. Wymóg dokonania zaboru oznacza, że nie jest możliwa kradzież rzeczy znalezionej przez sprawcę lub jemu powierzonej. Nie wyklucza to odpowiedzialności za inne przestępstwo, a mianowicie za przywłaszczenie.
