TGV

The TGV (train à grande vitesse, French for "high-speed train") is France's high-speed rail service developed by GEC-Alsthom (now Alstom) and SNCF, the French national rail operator, and operated primarily by SNCF. Following the inaugural TGV service between Paris and Lyon in 1981, the TGV network, centred on Paris, has expanded to connect cities across France and in adjacent countries. It holds the record for the fastest wheeled train, having reached 574.8 km/h (357 mph) on 3 April, 2007, and also holds the world's highest average speed for a regular passenger service. TGV is a registered trademark of SNCF.

Le TGV est une rame électrique construite en France apte à circuler à la vitesse de à en exploitation commerciale selon les types. Elle fut initialement mise au point par la SNCF et construite par la division transports de la société Alstom (anciennement GEC Alsthom) à Belfort. Elle est également construite sur les sites de Reichshoffen et Aytré (banlieue de La Rochelle). Plus précisément il s'agit de deux motrices indépendantes encadrant huit ou dix voitures.

TGV, Train à Grande Vitesse (pl. Pociąg o Wysokiej Prędkości, Pociąg o Dużej Prędkości) – rodzaj  francuskich elektrycznych pociągów pasażerskich, osiągających w regularnej eksploatacji prędkości do 320 km/h. TGV został opracowany i wdrożony przez firmę  ALSTOM przy współpracy z francuskimi kolejami państwowymi SNCF.

Il TGV, in francese Train à Grande Vitesse (treno a grande velocità), è un convoglio a trazione elettrica di concezione francese, messo a punto dalla SNCF, Société nationale des chemins de fer français (Società nazionale delle ferrovie francesi), in collaborazione con Alstom (GEC-Alsthom). È entrato in esercizio per la prima volta fra Parigi e Lione nel settembre 1981, sfruttando la prima tratta della nuova linea costruita fra Saint-Florentin e Sathonay-Camp, nei pressi di Lione.
