Eine Tunnelbohrmaschine (TBM) ist eine Maschine, welche zum Bau von Tunneln eingesetzt wird. Sie eignet sich besonders für hartes Gestein. Auch beim Tunnelbau im lockeren Fels, der für Vortrieb mittels Sprengtechnik ungeeignet ist, werden solche Großmaschinen eingesetzt. Der Bohrkopf hat Durchmesser von einem bis zu 15 Metern. Die Einrichtung im hinteren Teil des Bohrkopfes hat bei großen Durchmessern eine Länge von bis 200 Metern.
