Tad était un groupe de grunge de Seattle, formé en 1988. Le groupe, nommé d'après son chanteur et guitariste Tad Doyle, s'est dissout en 1999. Il joua avec Nirvana (à l'époque peu connu) en 1989 lors d'un tournée européenne organisé par Sub Pop, label commun aux deux groupes.

Tad war eine Grunge-Band, die 1987 in Seattle gegründet wurde. Für den Bandnamen stand Sänger Tad Doyle Pate. Der Sound der Band übertraf an Härte deutlich den anderer Grunge-Bands wie Nirvana  und Pearl Jam, weshalb Tad der kommerzielle Durchbruch verwehrt blieb. Nach fünf Studio- und einem Live-Album löste sich die Band 1997 auf.Tad Doyle gründete 2001 die Nachfolge-Formation Hog Molly, die den harten Sound von Tad weiterentwickelt.

Tad - amerykański zespół rockowy pochodzący z Seattle. Był jednym z pierwszych zespołów które wyszły poza Seattle w epoce muzyki grunge. Na ich muzykę bardziej wpływ miały zespoły metalowe lat siedemdziesiątych, niż punk jak to miało miejsce w przypadku innych kapel grunge'owych. Ich komercyjny sukces był raczej skromny, lecz mimo to ich muzyka wciąż doceniana jest przez fanów tego gatunku muzycznego. Zespół grał w latach 1988-1999.
