Turkey , known officially as the Republic of Turkey , is a Eurasian country that stretches across the Anatolian peninsula in southwest Asia and the Balkan region of southeastern Europe. Turkey borders eight countries: Bulgaria to the northwest, Greece to the west, Georgia to the northeast, Armenia, Azerbaijan (the Nakhichevan exclave), and Iran to the east, Iraq and Syria to the southeast. It borders the Mediterranean Sea to the south, the Aegean Sea to the west, and the Black Sea to the north. Turkey also contains the Sea of Marmara, which is used by geographers to mark the border between Europe and Asia, thus making Turkey transcontinental.

La Turquie, ou la République de Turquie pour les usages officiels, est un pays eurasiatique : elle est en effet située en Asie (Anatolie) à 97 % et en Europe (Trakya, soit la Thrace orientale) à 3 %. La Turquie est parfois considérée comme faisant partie de l'Europe, parfois de l'Asie. La Turquie a des frontières terrestres avec la Grèce, la Bulgarie, la Géorgie, l'Arménie, l'Azerbaïdjan (Nakhitchevan), l'Iran, l'Irak et la Syrie. C’est une république parlementaire dont la langue officielle est le turc.

Die Türkei (amtlich: Republik Türkei, türkisch: Türkiye Cumhuriyeti, Abkürzung T.C.) ist ein Staat in Asien (97 Prozent der Staatsfläche) und Europa (3 Prozent der Staatsfläche). Die Türkei ist der Nachfolgestaat des Osmanischen Reiches und ging nach dem Ersten Weltkrieg aus diesem hervor. Die Türkei versteht sich als  laizistische Republik. Der Laizismus geht auf den Staatsgründer Mustafa Kemal „Atatürk“ zurück. Atatürk war bestrebt, die Türkei durch viele gesellschaftliche Reformen nach dem Vorbild Europas zu modernisieren. Seit dem 3. Oktober 2005 steht die Türkei in Beitrittsverhandlungen mit der Europäischen Union.

Turcja (tur. Türkiye, Republika Turecka – Türkiye Cumhuriyeti) – państwo położone w  Azji na półwyspie Azja Mniejsza, a częściowo również w Europie ze stolicą w Ankarze. Część europejska – Tracja stanowi 3% powierzchni i oddzielona jest od części azjatyckiej morzem Marmara oraz cieśninami Bosfor i Dardanele. Turcja jest krajem czterech mórz, gdyż od północy otacza ją Morze Czarne, od zachodu Morze Egejskie i morze Marmara, a od południa Morze Śródziemne – nazywane w języku tureckim Morzem Białym.

La Repubblica di Turchia (in turco Türkiye Cumhuriyeti) è uno stato il cui territorio comprende l'estrema parte orientale della Tracia, in Europa, e la penisola dell'Anatolia, cinta a sud dal Mar Mediterraneo, ad ovest dal Mar Egeo, a nord-ovest dal Mar di Marmara ed a nord dal Mar Nero, tradizionalmente considerata la propaggine più occidentale del continente asiatico. La Turchia confina a nord-ovest con la Grecia e la Bulgaria, a nord-est con la Georgia, ad est con l'Armenia, l'Azerbaijan e l'Iran, a sud-est con l'Iraq ed a sud con la Siria.
