Sunn O)))
Sunn O))) is an American doom metal band known for its synthesis of diverse genres including drone, ambient, noise, and black metal. Supported by a varying cast of collaborators, the band has two core members: Stephen O'Malley (also of Khanate and Burning Witch) and Greg Anderson (of Goatsnake and Engine Kid).

Sunn O))) (gesprochen: ) ist eine US-amerikanische Drone-Doom-Band. Sie wurde 1998 als Nebenprojekt von Stephen O’Malley und Greg Anderson als Coverband der amerikanischen Gruppe Earth gegründet. Ihr Name bezieht sich auf den Verstärkerhersteller Sunn.

Sunn O))) (simplement prononcé comme le mot anglais sun) est un groupe de drone doom américain formé en 1998 par Stephen O'Malley, membre de Khanate et de Burning Witch, et Greg Anderson, membre de Goatsnake. Le groupe incorpore des éléments du dark ambient, du metal, et du doom metal dans sa musique, mais reste tout de même un groupe de drone. Sunn O))) s'est formé en tant qu'hommage à Earth, groupe aux sons très similaires, pionnier du mouvement drone metal.

Sunn O))) (uttalas helt enkelt "Sunn") är ett amerikanskt band som spelar så kallad drone metal men med starka influenser av dark ambient. Bandet bildades av Stephen O'Malley och Greg Anderson och de är de enda fasta medlemmarna i bandet, de har inspirerats mycket av bandet Earth som av många anses vara grundare av genren drone men även av andra band såsom The Melvins.

Sunn O))) (wymawiane po prostu "Sun") jest amerykańskim zespołem grającym doom metal/dark ambient/drone doom. Zespół powstał jako hołd dla grupy Earth, który był pionierem drone doomu.
Nazwa zespołu została wzięta od nazwy firmy Sunn Amplifiers, którego logo przedstawia napis SUNN oraz "fale" rozchodzące się wokół prawej strony koła, przez co logo można odczytać jako "Sunn O)))". Logo firmy
Zespół ma ekstremalnie niskie i powolne brzmienie, prawie pozbawione jakiejkolwiek perkusji i rytmu. Na koncertach członkowie zespołu noszą długie habity z kapturami. Podobno basy wytwarzane przez grupę na koncertach są tak intensywne, że powodują u słuchaczy bóle głowy oraz inne dolegliwości.
