Stuart Sutcliffe
Stuart Fergusson Victor Sutcliffe (23 June 1940 – 10 April 1962) was a Scottish artist and musician, best known as the original bass player of The Beatles. Sutcliffe left the band to pursue a career as an artist, having previously attended the Liverpool College of Art. Sutcliffe and John Lennon are credited with coming up with the name "The Beatles", as they both liked Buddy Holly's band, The Crickets. As a member of the group when it was a five-piece band, Sutcliffe is one of several people sometimes referred to as the "Fifth Beatle".

Stuart Sutcliffe
Stuart Fergusson Victor Sutcliffe (ur. 23 czerwca 1940 w Edynburgu, zm. 10 kwietnia 1962 w Hamburgu) - malarz brytyjski, znany przede wszystkim jako pierwszy basista The Beatles.
Dołączył do zespołu w grudniu 1959, gdy grupa nazywała się jeszcze The Quarry Men. Przypisuje się mu wymyślenie, wraz ze swoim najlepszym szkolnym przyjacielem, Johnem Lennonem, w kwietniu 1960 nazwy The Beatles. Jego ulubionym malarzem był Nicolas de Staël. Nie dożył sukcesu swoich kolegów. Zmarł na udar mózgu krótko po odejściu z zespołu. Mieszkał wówczas w Hamburgu ze swoją narzeczoną, malarką i fotografikiem Astrid Kirchherr, pomysłodawczynią fryzur Beatlesów i autorką ich pierwszych profesjonalnych zdjęć. Został uwieczniony na okładce płyty Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. Poświęcony jest mu film Stuart Sutcliffe: The Lost Beatle. O latach występów zespołu The Beatles w Hamburgu oraz przyjaźni między Lennonem, a Sutcliffem opowiada także film Backbeat
