Stoke City

Stoke City Football Club is a football club based in Stoke-on-Trent, England. Stoke is the second-oldest Football League club in the world, as it was founded in 1863. The club plays in the Football League Championship, the second tier of English football. The club’s nickname is The Potters (after the pottery industry in Stoke-on-Trent) and its home kit consists of a red & white vertical-striped shirt with white shorts and white socks. The club is currently owned by Kidsgrove Road Limited, a subsidiary of Bet365, with Peter Coates as the club's chairman. It was owned by Stoke Holding, from 1999 to 2006, which was in turn owned by a consortium of Icelandic businessmen. Coates completed his takeover on May 22 2006.

Lo Stoke City Football Club è una società calcistica inglese di Stoke-on-Trent.Si tratta della terza squadra più vecchia del mondo, fondata nel 1863, un anno dopo il Notts County e sei dopo lo Sheffield Club. I colori sociali sono il bianco e il rosso in strisce verticali.Il giocatore più famoso che abbia vestito la maglia dello Stoke è probabilmente l'ala Stanley Matthews (dal 1932 al 1947 e poi ancora dal 1961 al 1965), anche se difesero la porta dello Stoke due grandissimi portiere inglesi, Gordon Banks e Peter Shilton.
