Steven Wilson

Steven Wilson (born Steven John Wilson on November 3, 1967 in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, England) is the lead guitarist/singer/songwriter and the founder of progressive rock band Porcupine Tree. Wilson is also a self-taught producer, audio engineer, guitar and keyboard player (among other musical instruments).

Steven John Wilson (ur. 3 listopada 1967 w Hemel Hempstead) - brytyjski muzyk rockowy, kompozytor, multiinstrumentalista, wokalista i producent muzyczny, grający zwłaszcza rock progresywny.Już w bardzo wczesnej młodości eksperymentował z brzmieniem i różnymi technikami nagraniowymi, korzystając z prymitywnego studia nagraniowego. W wielku kilkunastu lat występował z zespołami Karma, Pride Of Passion i Altamont. Pod koniec lat 80. XX w. założył z wokalistą Timem Bownessem zespół No-Man oraz nagrywał solowo jako Porcupine Tree. Od 1993 Porcupine Tree stał się pełnym zespołem. W 2004 ukazała się pierwsza płyta grupy Blackfield, utworzonej przez Wilsona z izraelskim muzykiem Avivem Geffenem.

Steven Wilson è il chitarrista ed il cantante del gruppo progressive rock Porcupine Tree, di cui è anche il fondatore. Insieme a Tim Bowness ha costituito il gruppo No-Man e porta avanti progetti da solista, dove suona tutti gli strumenti e cura tutti gli aspetti tecnici inerenti al suono, alla programmazione e alla produzione: Bass Communion e I.E.M.; occasionalmente ha rilasciato dei lavori a nome suo. Di recente ha formato un progetto a due, chiamato Blackfield, con Aviv Geffen, un cantautore israeliano.
