Standard

The term standardization or standardisation can have several meanings depending on its context. Common use of the word standard implies that it is a universally agreed-upon set of guidelines for interoperability. However, the plurality of standards-issuing organizations means that a document purporting to be a "standard" doesn't necessarily have the support of many parties. As Grace Hopper said, "The wonderful thing about standards is that there are so many of them to choose from".

Une norme (du latin norma, « équerre, règle ») désigne un état habituellement répandu ou moyen considéré le plus souvent comme une règle à suivre. Ce terme générique désigne un ensemble de caractéristiques décrivant un objet, un être, qui peut être virtuel ou non. Tout ce qui entre dans une norme est considéré comme « normal », alors que ce qui en sort est « anormal ». Ces termes peuvent sous-entendre ou non des jugements de valeur.

Ein Standard ist eine vergleichsweise einheitliche oder vereinheitlichte, weithin anerkannte und meist auch angewandte (oder zumindest angestrebte) Art und Weise, etwas herzustellen oder durchzuführen, die sich gegenüber anderen Arten und Weisen durchgesetzt hat.In dieser Bedeutung ist der Begriff insbesondere in den Bereichen Technik und Methodik üblich, aber auch beispielsweise im Bezug auf Menschenrechte oder Umweltschutz. Dabei findet der Begriff sowohl Verwendung bzgl. allgemein anerkannter Zielsetzungen als auch bezüglich allgemein anerkannter Realisierungen.

Standard - wspólnie ustalone kryterium, które określa powszechne, zwykle najbardziej pożądane cechy czegoś, np. wytwarzanego przedmiotu (np. standardem jest, że każdy współcześnie wytwarzany telewizor wyświetla kolory) czy ludzkiego zachowania (norma kulturowa).
