Special municipality (Republic of China)
Special municipalities are one of first-level divisions in the Republic of China (ROC), commonly known as Taiwan. As of now there are five special municipalities in Taiwan, namely Kaohsiung, New Taipei, Taichung, Tainan and Taipei.
