Space Shuttle orbiter
The Space Shuttle orbiter was the orbital spacecraft of the Space Shuttle program operated by NASA, the space agency of the United States. The orbiter was a reusable winged "space-plane", a mixture of rockets, spacecraft, and aircraft. This space-plane could carry crews and payloads into low Earth orbit, perform on-orbit operations, then re-enter the atmosphere and land as a glider, returning its crew and any on-board payload to the Earth.

Programma Space Shuttle
Il Programma Space Shuttle è un programma spaziale della NASA, l'ente governativo degli Stati Uniti responsabile per i programmi spaziali. Il programma è finalizzato al compimento di missioni spaziali con equipaggio umano e prende il nome dal modello di navicella spaziale utilizzato in tali missioni, lo Space Shuttle. Tutt'oggi attivo, è stato avviato alla fine degli anni sessanta ed entrato in piena attività dalla metà degli anni settanta.

Ruimteveer
Ruimteveer of spaceshuttle is de soortnaam voor een herbruikbaar ruimtevaartuig dat opstijgt als raket en landt als een vliegtuig. De tegenhanger van de ruimteveer is de ruimtecapsule, die hoogstens enkele keren opnieuw gebruikt zou kunnen worden.
Omdat deze capsules het duurste deel zijn van de hele raket, kwam men op het idee dit stuk herbruikbaar te maken. De ervaring met de Space Shuttle heeft echter uitgewezen dat het onderhoud van een ruimteveer de kosten weer drastisch vermeerdert, en dat een ruimteveer (voor een baan rond de aarde) dat echt goedkoper is nog gebouwd moet worden.

Ônibus espacial
Um (em inglês space shuttle) é o veículo parcialmente reutilizável usado pela NASA como veículo lançador e espaçonave para suas missões tripuladas. Ele tornou-se o sucessor da nave Apollo usada durante o Projeto Apollo. O ônibus espacial voou pela primeira vez em 1981.
