The Table of Nations is an extensive list of descendants of Noah appearing within the
Torah at
Genesis 10, representing an
ethnology from an
Iron Age Levantine perspective. There are disputes as to how many of the peoples of the Earth it was intended to cover, and as to its accuracy. Some have taken the table to define the lineages of all people on earth. In this interpretation, the sons of Noah correspond to three races: Europeans, Semites, and Africans. Others read it as a guide only to local ethnic groups.
