Snowboard

A snowboard is a board ridden in snowboarding to descend a snow-covered slope. It is often thought as a winter form of a surfboard or skateboard, except that the rider's feet are bound to the board with bindings. Snowboards generally have a length between 140-165cm, a width of around 25 cm, and are constructed with a laminated wood core with a steel edge. A variety of snowboards exist to suit specific body types and riding preferences.

Le snowboard ou surf des neiges ou encore planche à neige est un sport de glisse sur neige. L'équipement se compose d'une planche de snowboard (board en anglais signifie « planche » et snow signifie « neige »), d'une paire de fixations (il en existe plusieurs types) et d'une paire de chaussures adaptées (boots). La position sur la planche est inspirée de celle du surfeur : de profil, les pieds en travers l'un derrière l'autre.

Ein Snowboard ist ein Wintersportgerät, mit dem man auf Schnee einen Abhang in schwingender Technik herunterfährt. Im Gegensatz zum Skifahren bewegt man sich dabei nur auf einem Brett. Die Sportart erlebte Anfang der 1990er Jahre einen explosionsartigen Zuwachs an Anhängern. Snowboarden hat sich daher wie früher das Skifahren zu einer starken Jugendkultur entwickelt und besitzt mittlerweile auch seine eigene Szene. Seit 1998 ist Snowboarden in mehreren Disziplinen olympisch.

Snowboard lub też deska snowboardowa to najważniejszy element wyposażenia służącego do uprawiania snowboardingu. Jest to deska zaprojektowana tak, aby można ją było przytroczyć do stóp i zjeżdżać z jej pomocą ze śnieżnych stoków.Większość snowboardów jest wytwarzana z drewna laminowanego włóknem szklanym. Deska od frontu jest lekko zadarta ku górze (posiada tzw. nos), po to aby nie miała ona tendencji do zakopywania się w miękkim śniegu. Tył desek, zależnie od konstrukcji i przeznaczenia, bywa również zadarty, choć wiele desek ma tył zupełnie płaski. Deski z zadartym tyłem są stosowane przez osoby, które wykonując ewolucje na stoku czasami jadą tyłem.

Lo si pratica scivolando sulla neve agganciati ad una tavola costruita a partire da un'anima di legno. La tavola è provvista di lamine e soletta in materiale sintetico simili a quelle dello  sci.
