Slayer

Slayer is an American thrash metal band founded by guitarists Jeff Hanneman and Kerry King. Slayer rose to fame as a leader of the American thrash metal movement with their 1986 release, Reign in Blood, which has been called "the heaviest album of all time". The band is credited as one of the "Big Four" thrash metal bands, along with Megadeth, Metallica, and Anthrax.

Slayer (ang. zabójca) – amerykański zespół thrashmetalowy założony w Los Angeles w 1981 przez gitarzystów Kerry'ego Kinga oraz Jeffa Hannemana (do których dołączyli: perkusista Dave Lombardo oraz basista i wokalista Tom Araya). Uznawany za jeden z najważniejszych i najbardziej wpływowych zespołów w historii muzyki metalowej. Obok Metalliki, Anthrax i Megadeth zaliczany do "Wielkiej Czwórki" thrash metalu. Teksty ich utworów są często postrzegane jako satanistyczne. Kontrowersje pogłębiają okładki płyt zespołu, obfitujące w sceny przemocy, wizerunki diabła i odwrócone krzyże oraz symbole magiczne (np. pentagramy).
